Reflections on Performance Phase

Thanks to a solid forethought phase and consistent feedback, the performance went very well. I mentioned before the issues that cropped up, being scheduling and Julie's debate camp. There was also the issue of the difficulty in teaching some aspects of the course because of software issues.
All of these issues were solved with minimal stress or sacrifice because of an effective safety net and a low-risk environment. The course was free of charge for Julie and she was already doing self-study. As well the course won't be offered to new students until October, so any mistakes or issues have a lot of time to be resolved.
The actual teaching and lesson planning was not really a new experience for me but it was the content that demanded mastery. That came from constant pouring over of resources since there is such a large base of them online. I have never taught IETLS before and I wasn't familiar past a general knowledge. So to go from a preliminary knowledge to teaching it so quickly was interesting. I think it is also important as a teacher to have this quality of quick learning because these situations can crop up often.
