Forethought Phase:

Week 1 (July 14-21)

· Create a SMART goal for the course

· Ensure quality of goals align with those of the scholarly articles (difficult, proximal and distal, specific, engaging, motivating)

· Meet with colleagues, Julie prospective student

· Define all goals and expected outcomes, ensure everyone is on the same page

· Decide on IELTS textbook

· Begin research and resource gathering

· Create schedule with Julie for coming week

· Create lesson plans for first week of courses, share with colleagues

Performance Phase:

Week 2-4 (July 22-August 8)

· Meet with Julie 5 times a week

· Adapt and update lesson plans daily for the coming weeks

· Meet with colleagues 3 times a week to discuss progress as well as viability of resources and course

· Begin to create final drafts of lesson plans and course work for final course.

Reflection Phase:

Week 5 (August 9-16)

· Final meetings with Julie and colleagues for feedback

· Reflect on whether strategies employed will work as course is further developed before release in October.

· Did I achieve my distal goal?

· Did I achieve my proximal goals?

· What were my obstacles and how did I adapt to overcome them?

· Am I satisfied with the outcome?

· Was the feedback helpful?

· How will this help me when developing courses in the future?
